Pictures this Tuesday, takes place in a world where everyone lives in a suburb. He wants to film the movie \"Flowers from the House Next Door\".
He is still searching for the killer of the family, even though he was the last one to see the husband alive before he seemed to vanish. He is having a difficult time with this, as he is about to become a father for the first time. His wife Carol (Carrie Fisher) tells him to \"take a remote and walk out to the garden\" to think things through. He intends to do this, but before he does, he decides to feel he needs to take away the new toy for his son, Cory Danziger (Corey Feldman), that his wife bought him. While he is in the garden, he walks down to the house next door, and his house, which he intended to rent out as his writing retreat, surprises him by having things he like and never anticipated. He finds the owners of the house are the strange family he has been questioning about their neighbors. He finds all kinds of interesting facts about the neighbors' lives. But he also calls immediate attention to himself, when he mistakes the house for haunted and his driver, Steve (Patrick Muldoon), calls the police to get his, Ray's, car towed by the police. Here, Ray meets officer Stuckey (Jake Busey) and his partner, Eli Gold (Michael Caine) as they are doing an investigation of the house next door.
Local police officer Ray Peterson isn't feeling the heat of the police investigation of the recent murder of a local family, even though he is the only one able to give descriptions that have been accurate.
