Joliet, Illinois

We arrived in Joliet, Illinois and the flowers were blooming! We stopped in Joliet to see Tammy and Grady. Pinky served with both of them in the Army. We stayed at Martin's Campground in Joliet and it was clean and reasonably priced at $30.00 a night for full hook ups.

Our first adventure was a food one! We went to Portillo's where the Italian beef is outstanding. I also ate the sausage sandwich, umm, umm good! Pinky had the Caesar Salad and said it was fantastic! I'll take her word on that one!

Our second adventure was food of course, as Tammy, Pinky's friend actually owns The Book and Bean Cafe inside the Joliet Public Library. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere even better! We then made our way to one of the numerous local parks. We had a good walk and the weather cooperated for the most part!

A couple of days later we went out to explore downtown Joliet. Great little town and great food again! We stopped at MyGrain. A brewery in the old train station. Great service, atmosphere and the food wasn't bad at all.

This pretzel was killer!

We then made our way to one of several working drawbridges in the downtown area. Downtown Joliet is a very nice little city!

Tammy is a pretty good artist, so we decided to have a paint night at her house. We had a great time and as usual, I think I could do a lot better, but it was so much fun!

We took the next few days to take some more walks and visit with Tammy and Grady. It was a great visit for Pinky. I know she misses her friends!

We also Visited with her cousin Kimi and her husband David! They took us out for Mexican food at La Mex. We both love Mexican food and the restaurant didn't disappoint! We had a great time and yes the margarita's were good and cold! We'll see you guys again, we promise!

The only downfall traveling through Illinois are the bridges, just terrible, but they are working on them! We had a great time and were sad to see our time end, but it was time to head to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to see more friends and enjoy more adventures on our life journey together. Thanks for reading and we'll post again soon! A special thanks to Tammy, Grady, Kimi and David! We miss you guys already!
