Nashville, Tennessee

Updated: Mar 20

We arrived in Tennessee and it's beautiful country, but if your driving an RV or pulling a travel trailer you'll need to check all of your screws, nuts and bolts and connections when you arrive at your destination! The roads are terrible, at least the ones we traveled. They also do not allow any overnight parking in any of the rest area's, 2 hour maximum.

We made the trip to see my mom, sister and nephew in Hermitage, Tennessee right outside Nashville. We spent two weeks visiting and had a lot of catching up to do. We made some gumbo, red beans and rice and bread pudding. It was like living at home again. It had been awhile since I had the opportunity to see my family and I didn't realize how much I missed them.

We did eat at some fantastic places outside Nashville. We stayed outside of Nashville because we got kicked out of the Walmart parking lot in Hermitage and then kicked off a side street, so we moved to the Mount Juliet Walmart and they were more than accommodating.

We had our first bagel breakfast sandwich at the Jersey Oven and it was fantastic and HUGE! We'll be back there for sure!

We found a little Cajun Restaurant in Mount Juliet. We had to get some fried catfish, crawfish etouffee and a seafood platter, with more fried catfish, fried oysters, shrimp and the hush puppies were to die for! Everything was wonderful! The place was clean and the service was good.

I saved the best for last! We tried a little Mexican restaurant, Dos Sisters and yes it's owned by two Dos Sisters! Pinky got the bacon wrapped shrimp and I ordered the enchilada platter. This place was spotless, the service was excellent, the margarita's were cold and the food was oh so good! We talked to one of the owners for a few minutes and told her what a great place they created!

We will definitely visit Mount Juliet again! Thanks to everyone that made our stay great and tasty!
